1. GC: You will now have before you the body of [356], who is in her living room (address). You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time, giving the cause of the existent conditions; also the treatment for the cure and relief of this body. You will speak distinctly at a normal rate of speech. You will answer questions which will be asked.
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [356], here. Now, we find there are abnormal conditions in the physical functioning of the body, as well as organic disturbances. These, as we find, effect the body in specific ways and manners, and destroy the effective work at times the body is able, or may do.
3. In considering the conditions, much might be given as respecting the history, or that as has brought about the disorders that at present exist. These, as we give then, will be rather that as exists which must be correlated WITH that as the body has SUFFERED periodically in the past.
4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, we find this tends to a heaviness, and a pressure in heart’s action, not eliminating as it should. Hence drosses or accumulations in extremities of the body, as pains in the shoulders, intercostal pains through the right and at times through the left side, under the arms, across the chest at times, heaviness in the region of the heart. MOST of this in the region of the heart, however, is INDIGESTION, though this produced by the disorders functionally AND organically of the eliminating system as a whole.
5. IN THE NERVE SYSTEM, this we find under the stress or strain as produced by pressures, caused or produced in the cerebro-spinal system from the attempt of the circulation to be made normal though CONGESTED areas, from poisons or accumulation in muscular tissue, as the intercostal, as in the brachial, as in the lumbar and locomotary plexuses of the system, so that even deep breathing of the body at times gives catchy pains across the diaphragm area.
6. IN THE FUNCTIONING ORGANS, brain forces are very good. The organs of the sensory system, that as is normal with the age, with the drosses apparent in the system; that is, these become ACUTE at times in their normal functioning, at others dimness in the eyes, drumming in the ears, fullness in the throat, and a general tendency of a throbbing feeling in the pulsations, or the capillary circulation.
7. In throat, bronchial, lungs and larynx, these are very good, or near normal, considering the conditions.
8. Heart’s action subnormal, or pulsation low, with a pressure high in blood supply. The respiration is sometimes faster than normal, at other times near normal and again below normal.
9. Digestive system, “all out of kelter!” We have had indications of, and still some existent conditions, of the gall bladder, or gall ducts, showing a blockage, or congestion, from sediments accumulating there, or gallstone accumulation, and this producing then sour stomach, tendency for constipation, with periods – or times when there are attempts to bring about eliminations – of a diarrhea nature, but lasting only a short period.
10. With the distresses in the lower portion of hepatic circulation, not overactive in quantity but too frequent activity of the kidneys at times; this producing irritation in the bladder from ACIDITY of system, and the ATTEMPT of the kidneys to ELIMINATE an extra amount of poisons thrown into that area for elimination.
11. The eliminations through the capillary circulation, or sweat pores, low; though at times there is the tendency to be clamminess, or cold feet, and flushes in face and perspiration over the body, but an abnormal character or nature. Swelling at times in the feet or lower limbs. This reflex only, from the kidney condition.
12. Now, to meet the needs of the conditions in the present, we would begin first with the castor oil packs over the liver area. These should be with heavy flannel, and sufficient oil to thoroughly DAMPEN same, or dipped in oil and wrung out – made hot and kept hot, which may be done with HOT salt packs, and when these cool heat them again. Keep this on each day for at least an hour to two hours, see?
13. After these have been kept on the body for four to five days, and hour to two hours each day, begin with all the olive oil the body WILL assimilate, but give it in VERY small doses – half a teaspoonful at a time, giving it every hour or every two hours, see?
14. Take a high enema after the oil has been taken for a couple of days.
15. Then prepare this, in three doses: [Each capsule containing the following:]
Podophyllum………………..1/2 grain,
Leptandrin…………………..1 grain,
Sanguinaria………………….1 grain,
Cascara Sagrada………………1 grain,
Senna……………………..1/2 grain,
Dover’s Powder……………..1/4 grain.
16. That’s a dose! Take these one day apart, see?
17. During the period – with the oil packs, and with the oil given, before the cathartic is given, and following same – we would take small quantities of ELM in each glass of water taken, just a pinch between the forefinger and thumb, put in the water just a little while before taken. Should this become offensive, in that it produces belching from non-activity through the system, discontinue and take Yellow Saffron water, or tea, see? made twenty grains to one pint of water, steeped as tea would be, strained, and drink cool – see?
18. When at this stage, we will find that the diet will of necessity be of more a liquid diet, though that that will be stimulating to the system will be well, as beef broth, chicken broth, or such. The general diet would be:
19. Mornings – stewed fruits, with rice cakes, or whole wheat bran cakes, or coarse ground meal cakes, see? A little tea or coffee, not too strong.
20. Noon – as many of the green vegetables as may be well made into a salad, which may be eaten with dressing of the oil base; that is, whether the French dressing or Mayonnaise – either would be well. At this period it would be well that some milk be taken, of one nature or another, preferably buttermilk, or that which has been treated with that that produces the proper fermentation.
21. Evenings – small quantities of meat, but these should only be those that do not carry fats.
22. It would be well that the body, each day before retiring, have a thorough massage with an electrically DRIVEN vibrator. Use that of the cup, or vacuum cup, over the body. Extend this to the extremities, especially along the main nerves as come to same, base of brain, along the side of the jaw, out to the arms and over the shoulders. The body will rest much better.
23. When necessity requires to relieve pains, we would use the enema to alleviate the pressure in the intestinal system. Be sure, however, that a portion of the last water used, especially, carries Glyco-Thymoline, or Boris, or Boracic Acid, as an antiseptic in same. Or the first quantity – that is, to the gallon of water – we may use a level teaspoonful of salt and a heaping tablespoonful of soda, with a little of the Glyco – that is, a teaspoonful – with same. The last water used should carry at least – in a gallon and a half of water – two tablespoonsful of Glyco, see? Do that. Ready for questions.
24. (Q) What causes vomiting?
(A) Backing up from the conditions in the duodenum, produced by the gall not acting properly in the system – the gall ducts.
25. (Q) Is her heart alright?
(A) As has been given, pressures produced by disturbance in the hepatic circulation, as well as in the general circulation, by poisons in same. Do as we have given, and we will relieve these pressures.
26. We are through for the present.

Time of Reading 4:10 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Alabama. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes – [522]. As we find, those conditions that disturb and bring about distresses are from accumulations of sedimentary forces produced by the character of administrations that have been given the body from time to time. These produce a congesting condition in the functioning of the eliminating system, as do any drugs that make for an affecting of the nerve reactions in the circulatory forces of the body.
2. There are accumulations in the liver and gall duct area especially, and the poisons from the system generally from toxic forces have contributed to the condition. And if these continue to contribute, unless there are the measures used either to empty the gall duct or to cause the solving, they will necessarily require operative forces to remove same. This, as we find, may be done by the gall duct pump, or they may be solved by the application of heat as from oil – such as the oil packs over the area, for sufficient time to make for the enlarging by relaxing of the duct area itself; making through absorption that necessary, as with a purgative such as from a quantity of the Castor Oil internally – hot; with the properties that would make for the engorging or the expanding of that particular area with the system’s activity. Thus we may EMPTY the sediments that form there. These are only as sediments, or gravel, as yet; but they produce an irritation and prevent the natural secretions and activities for the digestive system, causing excruciating pain and making for those conditions that are very detrimental to the body.
3. In either of these ways, or that which would be chosen, we would empty same; which would be PREFERABLE to operative measures in the present, as we find.
4. Then, if the hot oil method is chosen, we would begin with the hot Castor Oil packs and keep them constantly on the body for three days – or in periods of twenty-four hours, as hot as they can be kept on the body, over the liver and gall duct area.
5. At the end of the three days, begin taking the hot Castor Oil internally; two to three tablespoonsful, twice or three times.
6. (Q) Is the neuritis caused by a dead tooth?
(A) As has been indicated, this was caused from a condition in the teeth, as well as a general condition in the gall duct area. And, naturally, the condition or the change in the activities – as indicated has its bearing upon the nervous forces in the body itself.
7. (Q) Any other advice for the body at this time?
(A) These we would do for these conditions; either the drainages by the pump, as indicated, or the Castor Oil externally and internally – which will clear the system the more thoroughly; and keep away from the use of all the “ols” [“oils”?] that have been given!
8. We are through with this reading.

Time of Reading At home in 11:20 to 11:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. …, Ala. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [579].
2. Now, as we find, there are conditions – physical that disturb the body, and these are in the eliminations of the system – and in the effects produced upon the physical functioning of organs and their reaction to these conditions. Hence there is something of a complication, as we find.
3. In making administrations for the relief of the body, to make applications only for the conditions that are APPARENT will make only palliatives; yet there may be included with same the corrections – or additions and subtractions to the general physical forces disturbed – such as to bring the more helpful conditions for the body and the more lasting effects.
4. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [579] we are speaking of, at home in …, Alabama:
5. We find the BLOOD SUPPLY very heavy and charged, as it were, with toxic forces both as related to the upper and lower hepatic circulation. This toxemia has its effect upon the system in producing in the locomotary centers and in the extremities of the body not only excruciating pain at times but contraction in the muscular forces even; causing bad taste in the mouth, the color that is indicated, the hot and cold flushes, the inability of assimilations in portions of the system, the swelling at times in extremity and especially in the trunk portion in the abdominal area.
6. The NERVE SYSTEM is very good, considering the general reactions in the body. To be sure, the contraction in the muscular forces and in the activities of the body is produced from pressures; not only in the areas of the right portion of the body but from the toxic forces in other portions as they extend throughout the system.
7. As to the functioning of the ORGANS themselves: In the sensory reactions – that is, the eyes, ears, nose, throat, feeling, smell, speech and those reactions that disturb – all of these are purely REFLEX conditions. Then, to be sure, the age and those activities that have ensued in the body and its reaction to the poisons that have accumulated have their effect, and have produced definite reactions; for the body has, as it were, assumed these disorders and attempted to adjust itself, thus cutting off some of the reaction in these portions of the body.
8. As to the throat, bronchi and lungs, in the secondary forces of the throat and bronchi – especially through the voice box – we find a contraction produced by engorgement, produced by poisons’ reaction in the upper portion or the cardiac and secondary cardiac plexus of the stomach itself, producing in the larynx and the upper portion of the throat a swelling there. This is a reflex condition, yet in many respects has the appearance of causes; yet these have segregated themselves to a great extent and thus have set up inflammations of their own.
9. The heart’s action is disturbed, for the katabolism of the system is disturbed through the disturbances in the liver and in the kidneys or through the hepatic circulation; though there is no ORGANIC disorder.
10. The digestive system shows reactions of a regurgitation, and is in more of an acid than an alkalin reaction.
11. As we find, the main disturbances have arisen from the activities in the liver and the inactivity of the gall ducts; and these secretions and the activities there have tended to form gallstones in the gall bladder, yet this is an EFFECT rather than the greater specific cause – but makes for the conditions in the regurgitation and the activity of the liver and spleen as related to the excretory forces and secretive forces of the body.
12. In the ascending and transverse colon do we find the seat or the basis of the conditions that make this pressure or engorgement in the bladder, causing irritations in the bladder and the slow activity and low hepatic circulation – especially through the kidneys themselves. These make for the infection or reaction in the kidneys, of the swelling in the extremities, and the neuritis that occurs in the extremities of the body – as well as those conditions in the greater portion of the system’s activity.
13. Then, in meeting the needs of the conditions as we find them for this body, [579] we are speaking of:
14. First, we would begin with the use of Castor Oil packs over the liver area, extending same down to the caecum area – or the whole right side, from the lower portion of the rib area to the upper portion of the hip. We would apply these for at least one whole day, or for eight to twelve hours, you see; dipping a threefold or three-ply of flannel in hot Castor Oil and applying as warm as the body can bear, wringing out the cloths and applying directly to the body itself every twenty to thirty minutes, for eight to twelve hours, you see.
15. Then we would take a high enema, using a colon tube; and in at least a gallon to two gallons of tepid water use a level tablespoonful of common salt (well dissolved, of course) and a HEAPING tablespoonful of baking soda. After the evacuation, in the rinse water, to a quart and a half of the water add a tablespoonful of Glyco-Thymoline as an intestinal antiseptic. Of course, the first enema may not be very high – not passing farther than the half portion of the transverse colon; but gradually the tube may be injected farther.
16. Then let the body rest, only taking the Everlasting Tea or the Yellow Saffron and those activities that come from the use of FRESH elm bark; that is, put a pinch of the ground elm in each glass of cool water; only prepare it a few minutes before it is to be taken. Drink all the water the body can each day.
17. Let the diets be preferably of the citrus fruit juices; such as oranges, lemons or grapefruit. Take these preferably to other food values; though once or twice each day there may be given junket or blancmange or such an activity. These will only tend to make for easy digestion. Coffee or tea may be taken in moderation, but coffee without milk or cream and tea preferably with lemon instead of cream, as a stimulant.
18. After the second day, begin with the Epsom Salts packs across the abdomen, extending down the LEFT side of the body, over the colon area. Dip heavy crash towels in Epsom Salts saturated solution (as much Salts dissolved in the water as possible) and apply as hot as the body can bear.
19. Across the spine, especially in the lumbar and brachial area (lower part of back and between shoulders) but the whole of the spine, massage the body with equal parts of Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh; heating the Oil to add the Myrrh. This should be done each evening before the body is ready to rest.
20. And we will find we will bring much nearer normal conditions for this body.
21. After the periods of the Epsom Salts packs over the transverse and descending colon for a day, take small quantities of Olive Oil internally; not over a quarter teaspoonful to half a teaspoonful every two hours – until there is the full elimination from these activities.
22. Following same it would be well to take another high enema, which would be on the fourth or fifth day. This may be extended very much higher (the colon tube), using the same properties as we have outlined.
23. And we will have the body in a much easier condition, with the abilities to move about very much improved.
25. (Q) For how long a period should these treatments be kept up?
(A) Two to three periods or rounds; that is, the Castor Oil with the Epsom Salts, and allowing at least two to three days between each period of treatments. After these have been given for the second or third round, then the diet may be altered to soups, fruit juices, vegetable juices, but not a great quantity of solid foods for at least ten days, you see; that is, there may be gradually added buttermilk, or milk to which there is added the Bulgarian tablets; then gradually chicken broths or the like.
Do these and we will bring the better conditions for this body.
26. We are through for the present.
